Architect Lijo Jos of LIJO.RENY.architects delivered a talk titled Shaping Emotions – Shaped by Emotions at the IIID Coimbatore Centre Monthly Design Talk held at Radisson Blu, Coimbatore.

In this session, he presented a different facet of the studio’s work, exploring how emotion informs design decisions and, in turn, how built spaces influence human experience. Drawing from select projects at LIJO.RENY.architects, the talk reflected on intuition, context, materiality, and memory as quiet yet powerful forces in shaping architecture. It offered an honest look at the studio’s evolving approach, where architecture is not just constructed form, but something deeply lived and felt.

The presentation was followed by an energetic and engaging question and answer session. The audience represented a strong cross section of the design community, from young students and emerging practitioners to senior architects and industry leaders.

Younger participants probed into the studio’s design process, decision making, and the courage it takes to experiment. Senior professionals responded with layered insights drawn from decades of practice.
